Smart Baby

Grandma Renwick was watching Teagan today while we were at work. now i thought we had a smart baby, but this just proves it! Teagan was trying to put a shoe on. which is weird because she hardly wears them, let alone know what to do with a shoe! I thought it was just me, when chris was changing her and he had put one sock on and then she had the other one on and was trying to put it on her foot, or so i thought. I was figuring it was just a mother's wishful thinking, but this proves it that i am not imagining it... check it out for yourself. it is kind of funny because she keeps losing her balance.

How to keep a 10 month old occupied

I was folding laundry today and i realized how quiet it was. So either Teagan was crawling up the stairs behind me or into something... I look behind the couch and i see her playing with one of ollie's cat toys. Teagan was trying to get the ball out of the middle part but her hand was to big to get it out. I swear if she didnt see me peering over the couch who knows how long she would have sat there and tried to figure it out... i guess we found our new toy!

We were eating lunch today and i could tell teagan was getting tired. her eyes were getting a little red and she was starting to laugh weird and for no reason. see for yourself.

Crib play

10 Months

Teagan is into a lot of trouble now... Stairs are still her favorite, and her new favorite thing that is one of mommy's pet peeves is that she spits out whatever she is eating. She will keep shoveling it into her mouth but mouths it a bit and spits it out. Not sure what this phase is, but I hope it doesnt last long. She is pretty good at mimicking. She also knows what "no" means but of course doesnt always listen. She can stand on her own for a few seconds, but then when she realizes that she is doing it on her own she sits down and crabs. She is a little scared still i think. One of her favorite veggies is asparagus believe it or not. Although i am not very good at cooking them. when i do they are still crunchy on the outside stalk area. but i think if cook them much longer the top parts will get real mushy. I am up for suggestions.
One of Teagan's bad habbits is when she is tired and eating her bottle she pulls out her hair with her right hand. Not sure what this ordeal means, but she barely has any hair as it is...Teagan did get sick this month, we think she had Roseola. She had a fever for about 5 days with no other symptoms. then after the fever went away she got this faint rash on her front and back. it went away after 2 and a half days. My mom took her into the doc. on the 3rd day of her fever (we could control it with baby Tylenol but it kept coming back). But of course when she took her in she didnt have the fever at that time and was acting normal. We almost had to take her back if her fever kept up with no other symptoms to put a catheter in to get a urine sample to see if she had a bladder infection. But luckily the fever went away by sunday. When the rash showed up I called Michael (Aunt Andi's husband) who is a physicians assistant and i described everything to him and he thought it was Roseola. So i looked it up and the symptoms were exact! after the rash went away everything was back to normal and Teagan was her happy energetic self again. That was quite an ordeal.

Teagan is still in the phase of "everything goes in the mouth" but we havent had any choking hazards yet... thank goodness! Still no teeth, and not any sign of them. I guess according to my mom i was 13 months old before i got my first tooth, and not sure how old chris was. So we will be lucky to have any by her first birthday. Speaking of which, that is just around the corner and I am trying to figure out a place to have it that is inside, we just dont have the room at our house. I figure for her first party, I will have a big one and then after that it will be small.

Teagan is growing like a weed. She is in 12 month clothes now. She still wears the 9 month ones but the onsies are getting tight, she is just so long. The only problem is that she is tall and thin, so the 12 month clothes are kind of wide on her. So i am trying to stay away from one-piece outfits so the younger ones will last longer. I am assuming that she will slow her growing down soon, but who knows. I just hope she ends up taller than me, at this rate, so far so good.

Possible Halloween costume

I tried on Teagan's tinkerbell costume i bought last year to see if it will fit. she wasnt too thrilled with the whole thing... it barely fit, so hopefully she wont out grow it before the end of october. we are trying to come up with some sort of themed costume for teagan, emery, and adelaide. we are up 4 suggestions.

The park in Elgin had a big playground and Teagan was having fun crawling around in the tunnel. She kept wanting to eat the sand that was leftover in there from the kids going in and out... go figure, this kids loves to put whatever she finds on the floor in her mouth!

We went to a park in Elgin to meet up with my mom's side of the family. It was a little cool, but it was fun. Tosha and Jackie got their fill with their little nieces.

Teagan's first shower

Teagan took her first shower (with Chris) Sunday morning. We were too lazy to give her a bath the night before and we had to leave fairly early Sunday to go to Elgin for my Aunts bridal shower thingy. So i gave her to Chris in the shower after he was all done. She seemed to like it. I mean, didnt hear her crying or anything and Chris wasnt yelling for me to come get her. I just had to take her when she was all done. Dont be scared to scroll down, you wont see any naughty parts... :)

Dinner Time

Emery (14 months) and Adelaide (26 months i think) eating dinner over at our house while Teagan ate the scraps as they fell.... She is my little scavenger... It was so cute. Emery was dropping food on the floor for Teagan to eat up (and the cat). Teagan was perfectly content with it. She was just happy not to be sitting in the highchair.

Emery (14 months) came over to visit Saturday night with his parents. He was having a ball with all of Teagan's toys laying all over the place. But is first favorite was climbing in and out of the chair that I got from work. It was so cute. his little butt barely fit in it.

I think i need to get Teagan her own purse!! she absolutely loves to go through my purse when i am busy doing whatever in the kitchen. First she pulls everything out, and then she plays with the wallet. For some reason this kid knows where all the "good stuff" is....

Hillbilly Morning

This morning I took Teagan to Salem Auto to get Chris' tires rotated. I figured i would go first thing to get it out of the way. So i fed Teagan her bottle before we left and then headed out there by 8:00 this morning. I packed her food and stroller so i could go for a walk and finish her breakfast while they did their thing. So it all started good. I got her out of the car and put her in her seat and the mechanics got started. I decided to feed her right away. So we did it hillbilly style! Right in front of the building in the parking lot. Teagan did pretty good at first but then kept getting too distracted and didnt want to eat. I was feeding her yogurt (yes i know, i tried it again after that puking fiasco over the weekend). Well she got sick of it less than halfway through, so i gave her some strawberry pieces. She was slowly eating those until it all came up and she puked all over herself and the stroller seat!!! yuck!!! at least it wasnt as much or as bad as the first time. I thought, "you have got to be kidding me!!!" but thank goodness i took out some wipes from her diaper bag and had them with me to wipe her and her stroller down.

So of course i had to take her pants off, good thing she was wearing my favorite 2 piece jammies still, because her butt and the side of her leg was soaked with puky yogurt. That was the end of that feeding session. It was a little cool this morning so i had her hoodie in the stroller so i tucked the hood in her buckle to cover up her legs, and walked around the parking lot with her until the car was done. So much fun i tell ya! Here are some pictures of our wonderful Monday morning.

Teagan was rooting for the Bears today!! Her first real Bears game (at least while she is somewhat aware of her surroundings), though she took her nap by half time and is still sleeping... So far so good (for the Bears), barely.

October Fest!

Well we didnt go this year, but Teagan sure wants to go!!! I was playing with her and she couldnt keep her eyes off of Chris' hat from when he went to Germany years ago. So we figured we would play with it for a little while...



Teagan is feeling much better now. She doenst have a fever anymore, and is working on getting her appetite back. She sounds funny with her raspy, squeaky voice. But she is in good spirits and ready to roll!
