Chatter Box

Teagan has become quite the chatter box! I keep trying to get her conversations on video but every time i take out the camera she stops. i think she thinks i am going to take her picture, because that is what i normally do...She is pretty used to it, she just waits for the flash, you can see the anticipation in her face. She also has been waking up early for some reason. Yesterday she was up by 6 and this morning she was up when i got out of the shower a little after 6. She just talks to herself in the dark. It makes getting ready in the mornings a little more hectic, especially if she is crabby and you have to pick her up. Try brushing your teeth with a four month old in your arms... not too easy!

This is a small sample of her talking. She was being shy. It was quite early, too early for me to be carrying on conversations...

Teagan made a new friend!

We went to Erika's baby shower on Saturday and Teagan made a new friend, Addison. She is Keith's (Erika's husband) sisters baby. She is so cute. I think she is 3 months older than Teagan, so it was interesting to see what Teagan will be like in a few months. Addison was sitting by herself and eating baby veggies. So cute. We had them sit together for a photo shoot. Teagan is a little chubber next to Addison. Hopefully we will be able to get them all together when Andrew (Erika's baby) is born!

There were a handful of babies at the shower. Olivia who just turned a year. She was walking all over the place. She apparently started walking at 9 months! She is also very smart, she can do sign language! There was also another baby there that was like 14 or 15 months old, so neat to see all the age differences and what the kids can do.

Well gotta run, Teagan is up and ready for her last feeding of the night!!

4 Month Dr. Visit

We went in today to get her 4 month check up. Everything looks good. Teagan is a whopping 14 lbs. 1 oz and is 25 inches long. She has grown exactly one inch since her 2 month appointment, and has gained 2.5 pounds. I didn't think it was that much, but according to the growth charts, she is in the 75% for both height and weight. When I told the doctor that she is eating 7.5 oz every 3.5 hours she was amazed. But because she sleeps through the night she has to get all her calories during the day. I am also excited to say that we can start cereal now!! She even said I could start veggies and some fruits in a week or so. With the cereal, I just start it off real slow, like a tablespoon full first real watery and work our way up to thicker and thicker. Once a day at first and then eventually twice a day. I think I am going to try it this Friday in one of her afternoon feedings because it is a floating holiday for us.

Teagan was a real trooper when it came to her shots. She was so happy the entire visit, I was dreading the end when they do the shots. Again they did 2 shots in one leg and one in the other. Same shots as last time and oral. She got these big blue band-aids again. They don't seem to be bothering her anymore. She is smiling and kicking all the time. She recovered from them real quick. It didn't take long for her to stop crying. I am so glad, I was so dreading this.

I can't wait to take pictures of her first bite of food!!!

Talking Teagan

Teagan has been talking a lot lately. This is going to be really interesting when she gets a little older and we can start to understand what she is saying. She is also giggling more and more. We even found some ticklish spots under her chin and just under her rib cage on her sides. She is sort of talking in this video. Then Toby got jealous and so he decided he wanted in on the action. So he came up and wanted to lay on the couch. So i just made sure he didnt climb on Teagan, and ended up laying on her lap. She wasnt too sure about it, and looked a little confused.

She is becoming our little piggy. We had to up her feedings to 7.5 oz!!! I never would have thought she could fit that much in her belly at once! I have a list of questions to ask the doctor on Monday, hopefully I will remember to bring it. The only thing is, is that I scheduled the appointment to go right after her 1:00 feeding, but now with this new schedule she eats at 2, not 1. I should call to see if i can change it to some other time during the day. I doubt they will on such short notice, maybe I will try tomorrow. I doubt I will remember though.

New feeding schedule

Yesterday was our first attempt at a new feeding schedule. Teagan was at about 6 oz every 3 hours (7, 10, 1, 4, 7, 10) and we moved to 6.5-7 oz every 3.5 hours (7, 10:30, 2, 5:30, 9). Monday it went well, though I was feeding her so I am not sure exactly how many ounces she was getting, but I made sure she got her full every time. She slept through the night, so that was good. Today was her first bottle feeding full day with the new ounces. Grandma R said she was crabby this afternoon and seemed hungry, so we may have to bump her up to 7-7.5 oz. We will see, I guess it is all trial and error. On Monday we go in for our 4 month appointment and I will ask about starting to introduce cereal. Can't wait!

Enjoying the weather!

It has been nice these past few days, other than the snowfall we got on Saturday. So When I was off at soccer sunday night, Chris took Toby and Teagan for a walk. I was quite shocked to see that Chris had taken pictures on his own without me reminding him to. Of course he decided this when I wasn't around, so yet again there will be no pics of me, at least not ones where you cant see my arm jutting from the camera... So here is Chris and Teagan on Sunday.
Today on my work at home day, I finally made it outside. So we all went for a walk again, me, Toby and Teagan. We went in the stroller first and then I dropped Toby off because he has a sore leg and I didn't want to work him too hard. It was pretty nice out. It is amazing what the difference the temperature is between the shade and the sun. We didn't get out until about 3:00 or so. We stopped at Jessi and Bry's house to say hi, but Bry was taking a nap. So I figured we would walk around until Bry woke up. Teagan was awake for a while and then fell asleep.

When we got back to the house to drop Toby off Jessi called and said they were on their way out to the park. So I put Teagan in the baby bjorn and went to the park. On our way there we met Julie, Lindsay and Logan, our neighbors. They were on their way back from a walk. By the time we finally got to the park it was starting to get a little chili outside, so we didn't stay long.

Teagan had her first outside swing experience today! She wasnt too happy at first, but I think it was because she didnt have a very long nap in the stroller and she might have been a little cold. But after i started pushing her, she started to like it. It was cute. She looked like she was swimming in the chair. This summer I think she will be a good size for it. We had a few pushes with Bryahna and then went home. I was getting cold, and Teagan was not very happy anymore.

First walk alone

I went for a walk with just me, Teagan, and Toby. I was a little nervous with Toby and no one to manage him on the walk if we passed other dogs, but he did very well. Currently he has a soar hind leg, not sure what is wrong. If he is still hobbling on it by the end of the week I think we are going to take him in to have it looked at.

But our first walk together went well. Toby was nice and calm and Teagan pretty much slept the whole way. I had her pretty bundled up, because it was a little chili out. We walked for about a half hour or so. I didn't want to go to long because I didn't want Teagan to get cold and I didn't want to aggrivate Toby's leg. I just had to go yesterday, the outside was just calling my name. It is so nice to be able to go outside now with out having to bundle up so much. Soon it will be warm enough where we can just go and I wont have to put Teagan in 50 layers.

I am gonna eat ya!

We were at my cousin's 21 birthday party this weekend and Teagan was getting tired and cranky. We were all chatting in the kitchen and Dani was watching Teagan. The next thing we know everyone is laughing. Dani had Teagan flying and Shelby was on the other end entertaining her. It was so funny, T kept opening her mouth real wide as if she was going to eat Shelby. We knew she liked flying, but this opening of the mouth thing was something new.

Sit-up face

So Chris was playing with T last night and she always makes this face when she wants to sit up. We finally got it on camera. If you hold her hands she gets all tense and tries her hardest to pull herself up. She doesnt get that you have to use your arms to help pull up, she just tries to use her stomach muscles. See the look of determination? She is trying hard. It is so cute. She will be sitting in her vibraty seat and will start to do that. I think her seat is a little to layed back for her sometimes. She likes to sit upright, but we have to be careful when we do that, especially after she eats because it will all come right back up. She is starting to like her bumbo more and more, I just wish there was a happy medium somewhere. The vibraty seat is too layed back and the bumbo is too upright. T loves to be on her feet. She will stand for a long time with you holding her hands. Then she just kind of collapses when her legs get tired.

lopsided butt

I was giving Teagan a bath the other day and I realized that her butt was lopsided!! I think it is because she always sleeps on her left side when she is napping. It is really quite funny how different each cheek is! She has a flat one and a round one... I think she might have mommies bubble butt (sorry T). Take a look for yourselves and tell me what you think. Poor girl, I hope they even out as she gets more mobile!

Holding Bottle

I was getting ready for soccer on Sunday evening and I was trying to feed Teagan quick before I left at 4:00. She was getting down to the bottom and she started to hold the bottle herself! I She did it for a long time. She is getting pretty good with using her hands. She loves her little blankets and pulls them up to her face all the time.

Standing Tall

Teagan loves to stand now. She can even do it by herself for about a second. I had just gotten done changing her diaper and putting her in her outfit for the day and she was standing so strong I decided to try to get some pictures of her. Don't worry, i was careful... She just holds on to your hands and stands there. She is pretty stable, at least in the standing straight part. I think she just locks her knees and stays stiff. Even last night Chris was holding her and we couldnt get her to relax and sit. So he was holding her on his lap while she was standing and would let go for a second and she would just stand there and then slowly tip over. But it didnt seem to faze her. She just kept staring at me as she was falling over. It was like slow motion, kind of funny.

First Giggle!

We were over at aunt Andi's house on Saturday making Perogi's and Andi was playing with Teagan on the floor. She was half naked, as she was changing her diaper, and after several minutes of tickling, a lone giggle came out! We were so excited to finally her it. She has been so close for so long. She has laughed and cooed and stuff but, never an actual giggle. It was only one, but we all heard it! Then on Sunday I was trying to get her to giggle again. She was getting all excited and having fun, so I started video taping her and after about 2 minutes of not much, i finally gave up. But sure enough, about a 30 seconds later she giggled again, just one. go figure, right!

Hopefully soon we will have more occurances of these giggles.
