Gaining Hand Eye Coordination

Teagan is starting to be able to grab objects on purpose. She can't always do it, but is starting to realize how her fingers work. Of course, her first instinct is to try to put whatever it is she is grabbing in her mouth... It is cute to watch her think about it. You can see the wheels turning in her head, but mostly watch her eyes, they get buggy when she is really concentrating!! :)

Toby's Turn in the Tub!

We are getting our pictures taken on Saturday, so Toby was in dire need of a bath! He still needs a good brushing, but I think he prefers the water to the brush! He kept jumping right in the tub before I even asked him to, so I had to get it on video. He does really good in there. He just lays down and lets you rub him down!

Wiggle Worm

This morning when I went in to say goodbye to Teagan before I left for work, she was completely flipped in her crib. I had noticed that she was becoming more and more of a mover in there, so yesterday (Monday) I had taken all of her stuffed animals that I had shoved in the corner out. Good thing, because this morning she was facing the complete opposite.

My Little Princess

We spent the night over at aunt Andi's on Friday night. We had a fun time, making red velvet cake and playing in her princess room. Teagan is going to have her own special room when she gets older... They have this spare bedroom that was staged as a little girls room with all the Disney Princess in it. There are these huge cardboard cutouts of 3 different princess, don't ask me to name them, you can figure it out from the pictures. We got Toby in on our little photoshoot. Come see the shutterfly pictures later in the week for the rest of the pictures.

12 Weeks!

Teagan is 12 weeks today! She is becoming quite the character. We are starting to think that she is left handed, she will only suck on her left thumb. Teagan has discovered her tongue. She keeps sticking it out and playing with it in her mouth, it is kind of cute. She is getting pretty good with her hands. She can grab stuff now, not all the time but she can get a hold of stuff every once in a while. She loves fuzzy blankets. Always trying to put them in her mouth. She still talks all the time to her little friends on her vibraty seat, hence the majority of our pictures of her are in that seat.

Today was my first day working from home. It was a little difficult at first, but I think I am going to get the hang of it. I am just glad it is one day a week, at least at this point. It is much harder to work with a little one to keep entertained. She had a good day today though. She even went to bed in less than 15 minutes tonight. Lets just hope she sleeps through the night tonight. Last night she must have known that I was staying home today, because she woke up at midnight. I ended up feeding her, she kept acting like she was hungry. According to the baby books around 3 months is one of their growth spurts and they eat more. So maybe that was it too.

I am still loading her pictures, so go to our shutterfly site to see the ones from this week.

Back at Work

Well yesterday was my first day back at work. It wasn't that bad. It was nice to get out of the house and have a structured day with adults. Leaving the house in the morning was very difficult though, I got all teary eyed when I got in the car. Once I got to work though, they kept me busy enough to keep my mind from thinking too much about her. I do realize that I have much more to bring to work now. Lunch, coffee, pills, pump, milk storage cooler and bags, and my purse. And that is on the days that Gini (grandma Renwick) watches Teagan. On Thursdays and Fridays I will have a baby and the baby bag with me and have to drive to mom's (grandma Feldmanns). Not sure how I am going to get out of the house by 6:20 on those days. Not to mention when I get my butt in gear and start working out during my lunch hour I will have my workout bag with me. I will have to take several trips just to get into work. But it is all worth it right?

11 Weeks

Teagan is 11 weeks today. Sorry it took me so long to post but I had to go out and buy work shirts that fit my larger than pre-pregnant belly... :( Teagan spent the morning with Aunt Andi while I went to the Prime outlet mall quick. Did find much. Then we just hung out at her house, she made me dinner and then Teagan and I went home.

I wont have any current pictures today. I left my camera at Andi's house for her to take some cute pictures of her before i posted them, but my camera battery was dead, go figure... So i will have to charge my battery tonight and post tomorrow. She is getting quite good at sucking her left thumb. She now even likes to take her right hand and cover her eyes or cover her left hand while she sucks on it, as if she was trying to suck on her thumb in secret. She is already trying to hide stuff from us... :)

She holds her head up really well. Teagan is getting pretty good at holding herself up if i balance her first and then let go, Especially if she is focused on something in front of her. She is definitely staying awake longer throughout the day. We have our routine down pretty good. She is eating every 3 hours still and taking about an hour to and hour and a half naps inbetween feedings. She goes down for naps pretty good, the only one she really fights is her 8:30 pm one. for some reason she just does not like that nap time. She is tired and will fall asleep briefly but then will wake herself up and cry for almost 20 minutes. Sometimes i wonder if she will get any sleep because I will have to wake her up at 10 for her last feeding of the night.

She has been a really good baby. She is growing so fast. Some of her 0-3 month Gerber onsies I am going to have to store soon, she is growing out of them. I can't wait till the warmer months when I can dress her up in cute little dresses! I bought her a little summer dress thing. It was on the clearance rack, actually I ended up buying Teagan more outfits than myself. I have a feeling that is what is going to happen from here on out...

Look for pictures tomorrow on my shutterfly account. Hopefully I will have them loaded on there by tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon.

Toby got a haircut!

I started yesterday, but got much closer today. He is almost done. He really needs a brushing and a bath. it is hard to give him a proper haircut with all the mats he has. I have not been keeping up with him and his grooming since Teagan came along. Poor Toby, he has been tortured for several hours yesterday and a few today. He does really well as much as he hates me pulling on his fur. He keeps trying to creep away, and i have to keep calling him back eventually, and he mopes back. It has been quite some time since his last hair cut, i would say at least 6 or 7 months.

We went outside and shoveled at about 3:00, after I put Teagan down for a nap. There is now way I would have taken him out there with all that snow with his almost full coat. The snow just balls up and hangs on his fur. We got a good 6 or 7 inches on the driveway when I was shoveling. I even had to go over it again to get the quarter of an inch that had fallen by the time i was done. Toby loved it though. He was bouncing around like a giant rabbit! I played soccer with him for a little while, but he liked playing with the little girl that lives kitty corner from us in the little cabin-looking house. He is much easier to clean off now with the short coat.

1st Overnighter at the Feldmann's

Friday me and Chris went to Devil's Head to go skiing. We dropped Teagan off at my parents house Friday early afternoon. It was her first over-nighter there without us. She has been sleeping through the night for over a week now, so I was pretty confident that she would keep up with her good habits. When I went to drop little T off, I found Grandma had gone shopping!! She had all sorts of little outfits for her. So it was no surprise that when I came back to pick her up I viewed a bunch of photos of Teagan in almost all of her new outfits and none that I had brought over. It was cute, kind of like having her own little fashion show with grandma. I still have to get those pictures from mom so I can post them on Shutterfly.

While at grandma and grandpas Teagan used all of Cade and Caleb's old toys. her favorite was the green caterpillar with the black and white feet. It was really short and wrinkly, but when you pulled it out it stretched out to be about a foot and a half and as it scrunched back up it played music. She LOVED it! She could just stare and talk to it for her entire awake time between feedings. I think it was the black and white feet, Teagan seems to love great contrast in colors right now. (She loves my Balls Deep softball shirt) From what mom tells me, she was really good all day Friday, but decided to be a little stinker on Saturday. We showed up at about 1 on saturday afternoon. She was pretty crabby. I think it was because she was drinking her bottles too fast that day. On Friday it took her about 20 min. a bottle, and on Saturday she downed them in 10 min. So she probably just gave herself a stomach ache.

But she survived her first overnight at the Feldmann's!

Humidifier

Over the past week little T has been sounding kind of raspy. So on Thursday I went out and bought the Vicks warm mist humidifier. I know, most of the baby books say that you should get the cool mist humidifier so the kids dont burn themselves. But i figure she wont be big enough to burn herself for quite some time now. Plus the cool air ones cool off the room. Teagan doesnt need her room any cooler than it already is.

Chris is working on getting our furnace humidifier to work. We havent used it since we moved in I dont think. Chris was always worried about mildew on the windows when get got condensation on them in the winter months. But now that we have a little one, at first sign, he changes his perspective. Now I think i would like to have a humidifier in our room. I too tend to wake up with a soar throat and it goes away by mid afternoon.

Since getting this humidifier, Teagan has sounded much better. She is also talking a lot more, well baby babble. I think the dry air was causing her poor little throat to get soar. She is still not fully recovered, but much better. Hopefully soon she will be back to normal.

Teagan and Toby Time

Teagan and Toby have become such good buddies. Toby is very comfortable around her, sometimes too comfortable, and Teagan has become so accustomed to Toby giving her tons of kisses and poking at her diaper all the time. Teagan does have a habbit of trying to eat Toby's fur. In some of those pictures of Teagan on Toby's back (see the link to Shutterfly in "Teagan 10 Weeks") she kept opening her mouth wide and tried to eat his fur, that is why I had to put the burp rag on him. Once she gets a little older and can interact more, I think she is going to love playing with Toby. We just better get ready for some bumps and bruises from Toby knocking her down.

Sitting on Changing Table

I was hanging out with Teagan on the changing table after I had to change her for the 2nd time because she pooped all over herself. It was aweful, and blew out the front of her pants. It was so bad she had a pool of poop in her belly button!! So she got a bath and then we decided to play since she was in a good mood. She did really good on the changing table. As usual any chance for her to get naked puts her in a good mood! But she was sitting up on the table and the little bird cling-on on the wall caught her eye. She was able to balance on her fully belly and hold her self up. She was pretty wobbly, but she could sit there for a few seconds by herself. It was cute. Don't mine my annoying voice, I hate listening to myself.

2 month Doc Appointment

I brought little T in yesterday (Monday, Feb 1) for her 2 month doctors appointment. I was not looking forward to this one, because she gets her shots!! I had 2 concerns going in, her voice has been a little raspy for a few days. Chris says it was just from crying from us trying to let her "cry it out", but she never cried for more than 15, 20 minutes before she would fall asleep. The other concern was that she had this little white thing on her left nipple. As far as the raspyness the doc asked me if either of us were sick and I said no. She told me to come in in a week if it doesnt get any better. I guess Chris has had a soar throat for a few days now and didn't tell me... So we are going to get a humidifier for her room and see if that helps at all. As far as the nipple thing goes, I guess it is just possibly a blocked duct and should go away on its own. Who would have guessed, babies have milk in their boobs!! She said it was probably from hormones. I also have to give her vitamin D every day since I am still exclusively breast feeding. Breast fed babies don't get any vitamin D from breast milk and here in good old Wisconsin we don't get enough direct sunlight to supplement enough for her. She doesnt seem to mind it. It is just an eyedropper thing that I have to give her once a day.

Teagan is growing very well. She measured in at 24 inches, which puts her in the 90%!!! Never would have guessed with a mother that is barely 5 foot 3 and a father that is 5' 11". She is now 11.bs 7.5 oz, putting her in the 50% for weight. The doc said this doesn't necessarily mean much at this point. It changes so much as they grow. But she is healthy! The worst part was next....

3 SHOTS!!! and an oral vaccine. I was so scared for this part. They made me sign a bunch of stuff and while i was doing that the nurse gave Teagan her oral med which she took fine. Then i had to hold her little hands and comfort her while the nurse stuck her left thigh with her first vaccine!!! Teagan did really good until she was taking it out, then the screams came. Her poor little face turned bright red. Then the second shot came in the same leg. I almost cried!! She still had one more to go. After she moved over to the other leg and did that shot that one started bleeding! That was when I almost lost control of my emotions! The nurse quick put on snoopy band aids and she was done. Teagan was a brave little baby, she stopped crying shortly afterwards. I was scared to put her clothes back in in fear of hurting her poor little legs with these giant band aids. But I got her dressed and got out of there.

After leaving the doctors office we drove to Aunt Andi's pharmacy to get some baby Tylenol and her vitamin D. The doc said she may need some Tylenol for the pain and could get a little fever from the shots. Teagan slept in the car on the way to the pharmacy and all while everyone oohed and awwed over her. She did good last night. She was a little more crabby than usual, but that could be expected. She is still doing well with the sleeping through the night. I was anticipating her waking up because of what she had been through yesterday but she did well.

This morning one of her band aids were coming off so I tried to slowly peel it off but she told me otherwise... So I stopped. I didn't want her to be in any more pain, but then when i was done changing her diaper and clothes it came off pretty easily after that. The other two band aids are still on her left leg. I think I will give her a bath and try to see if they fall off in the water. Well it is 10:00 and time for Teagan to eat. Don't want to mess up her wonderful schedule that is keeping me sane at night!
