Walking with Grandma! (part 2)

This is one of Teagan's favorite things to do now!! Walk. Of course she is no where near doing it on her own. But she can support all her weight, all she needs to do is figure out how to keep her balance. She does this wiggle wabble, like Elvis shaking his stuff!! or like Forest Gump. :)

Teagan loves to march or walk. This is from Friday when i came home to pick Teagan up after work. She was loving having grandma walk her across the kitchen floor. She walks like a sumo wrestler! legs wide apart and stomps as she goes. so cute!

Crazy evening!

Tonight was kind of messed up. First I wasnt able to pump later in the day at work because i was in a meeting until 20 minutes after 4:00 (i usually leave work at 4:00). So i left right away. I decided to pump as soon as i got to my parents house. When i got home, chris had dinner ready (he stayed home sick today). So i ate and by the time i was done Teagan was not a happy camper. I told chris she has to eat right away but he wanted to wait it out. finally he decided to feed her some veggies and by then she was too crabby to eat anything. I tried to nurse her, but she was too upset. So finally i ended up feeding her veggies while she sat in my lap and then finished off the meal with a banana and mango combo. I felt that since she didnt drink anything that she needed to at some point. So i figured why not try some formula since i hope to be ending this whole breast feeding thing soon. She did fine. i gave her 2 ounces of enfemil. she drank it like it was no big deal. everything was then back to normal. phew!!

Brushing my teeth

I was trying to keep Teagan entertained after i attempted to feed her dinner. We had a tooth brush sitting on the table that chris' mom's dentist had given her for Teagan. So i thought, what the heck, why not try brushing her gums and see what she does. She liked it! She just opened her mouth and let me brush away. Then she tried to suck on it. She was drooling like crazy. She kept grabbing for it so i gave it too her and she got it in her mouth. so cute! I had to make sure she only grabbed at it at the end because she came close to poking herself in the eye a few times when she was holding it further down. Maybe we will make this a ritual after dinner time.

Sitting so good

Teagan is getting better at sitting. If you could only hear her trying to reach forward, grunting the whole time because her stomach takes up all the room under her lungs! She is trying to get closer to that mobile i was talking about earlier in an older blog.

Teagan's first cold

Last night Teagan had a little bit of a runny nose. This morning she woke up with crusties all over her top lip and in her nose, poor thing. She has been a trooper so far. Not all sure what I can do for her. I keep wiping her nose with tissue and suck it out occasionally (but that is a struggle and doesnt end well for Teagan). You can see her eyes are kind of red, she has been fussy on and off all day. Hopefully it will go away soon. She doesnt seem to have a fever and doesnt act too differently than normal other than being all stuffed up and crabby because she has to breath through her mouth all the time.

When she wants something...

I was changing teagan after i gave her a bath. She was kind of crabby so i turned on her mobile. she is really starting to love that thing (thanks Brooke). well, first i had her sitting and she kept grunting and trying to pull herself forward, so i stood her up and she kept leaning in. She was trying to walk towards it and pull it towards her. she is one determined girl, when she wants something she tries her hardest to get it!

Here are a few pics of the bonfire we had. We have to enjoy them while we can. Because once it gets consistently warm outside, we wont be able to set foot outside our house without getting eaten alive!!

Getting Bigger!

We had people over for a bonfire Saturday after we got back from the horse track. This was the only decent picture of the three of them we could get before either Teagan got angry because Emery kept wanting to pet her, or Adelaide just got board of hanging out with two squirts! Teagan is almost 6 months old, Emery is 10 months, and Adelaide is 21 months. I can't wait till they are all old enough to play with each other! How much fun is that going to be?!?

Arlington Race Track

We went to the Arlington Horse Race Track on Saturday with Kurt, Lisa, Kyle and Matt. It was the first time for all of us. It was a lot of fun. I definitely would like to go again, but this time be a little more prepared. You can bring coolers with food and i think drinks. that was the thing there. And, there were tons of kids everywhere! I was amazed. It was really kid friendly, there were pony rides and a petting and feeding area. There was no smoking on the inside of the building and there were only a few smokers outside, so it wasnt even bad there. We didn't win much money on the races. Kyle was the only one who won big, but by the time the evening was over he was back to even.

Nap time! Although not very long. I would have thought all that fresh air would have made her sleep longer, but quite the opposite!

We were on our way to the Arlington Horse Race track and we were in a hurry so i didnt have time to feed Teagan, so i gave her a bottle (good thing i had some leftover from Friday). I figured it would be a good time to try to get her to hold her bottle. She does an okay job at it. i dont think she quite understands what is going on when she holds on to it though. But soon enough i think. Hopefully when she goes on the bottle full time it will become easier.

Watching Pop play softball

We went to Chris' softball game on friday evening. It was a little chilly out, but nice enough. we can only go to the 6:30 or 7:30 games, otherwise it is way too late for Teagan. she goes to bed at about 8:30 or so. she was a pretty good trooper since this weeks game was at 7:30 and it got over past her bedtime.

New Friend!

We went and visited one of Teagan's future new friends! She was born on Thursday. Gera Lyn Buchanan, 8 lbs. 3 oz, 19 inches long. What a cutie! I can't wait till we have a chance to go and visit and introduce them. I went to the Lake Forest Hospital on Friday on my lunch hour with a couple of co-workers. That hospital is really nice.

Rolly Polly

Well Teagan I think has mastered rolling from her back to her front. Now she just has to learn how to get back again. It is amazing how fast she learns. Just the other day I was thinking to myself that Teagan is going to be a little behind the other kids (I have a lot of friends and cousins that have babies near her age that are already sitting and rolling). But now she did it a few times and she cant stop doing it! Crazy.

This morning i heard her in her crib at about 5:00 talking away. Normally she doesnt wake up until about 6:30 or so. She just hung out in there. I finally went in her room this morning after I got out of the shower a little after 6 and she was laying the opposite way in her crib holding onto a blanket wide awake. Wiggly worm! My mom just emailed me and said she is rolling like crazy now. She got it on video, I will have to try to post it sometime if i can get it off her camera, or just catch her doing it tonight.

Crazy baby!

I had Teagan laying on the floor trying to see if she would roll over again and she just wiggled all over the place. She started doing this funny thing with her mouth, so i had to get it on video.

She did it!!! As i was loading this video she rolled over but we both missed it! So I put her back on her back to see if she would do it again....

5 minutes later.... Teagan rolled over and we saw it! She was coming so close. i video taped her trying but no luck. of course about a minute or two after i stopped she did it. but at least we both saw it this time. maybe i will get it on video next time, but by then it will be old news.

Cool Sunglasses

Teagan finally fits into her wraparound sunglasses. We laughed so hard! They fit her perfectly! They form right to her face. These would be perfect for walks when I get home from work, because the sun is starting to set and goes right in our eyes. Then I dont have to hold my hand up to cover her eyes for her when she is in the baby bjourn. She doesn't seem to mind them on her face.

Teagan's first painting!

Jackie made me and mom an electronic painting of a picture of Teagan from when she was 19 weeks old. See the resemblance? Sorry the picture is sideways, cant figure out how to rotate on blogger. She did a really good job. I am going to get cool lettering I think, and put Teagan's name on the top and bottom of the picture.

Dog park

We went to the dog park after we visited Chris' family. It was so nice out so we figured we would give Toby some exercise. Teagan had a good time too. We didnt stay long, we were on our way to my parents house for a Mother's Day dinner. We took some really cute pictures of Teagan which i will have to get from my mom and post. we didnt have my camera on hand at the time. hopefully i will get those pictures soon.

Happy Mother's Day Mom!

We went to Chris' aunt and uncle's house on Sunday for mothers day. When we got there Chris' dad had her and she was all wet. Her diaper had leaked through. so i layed her on the floor to change her diaper, little did i know that what I thought was pee, was actually loads of poop!!!! It was all over the place. I of course didnt take a picture because i was too busy being amazed that she had pooped so much and it had gone all the way up her leg. it had shot out of both sides of her diaper, there was even a chunk in there somehow. Not sure how that happened because we havent been feeding her cereal or baby food for a while since she is rebelling against it!


So after we peeled her clothes off I had to give her a mini bath in Aunt Kathy's sink. It was so funny, she loved it! The sink was the perfect size. it almost looks like it is a mini bath tub made for her.



Of course the day would not be complete with out baby pictures!!! Teagan looks like a giant compared to 1.5 week old Andrew! I am sure he will catch up to her in now time. Right now he is eating 3 oz every 3 hours! Teagan wasnt drinking that much until about 2 months old. He is adorable, and looks just like Keith. Although he is still really dark, not sure where that comes from...

Missed it Again!!

I was working from home and I had Teagan on her play mat. I always put her on her back because she still isnt a big fan on laying on her stomach. Plus she always pukes when she is on her stomach. So anyways, i had her playing there, and i look over, and she is on her stomach!!! i missed it again! So far, no one has seen her roll over. Apparently she likes to do it in private. I was talking with Chris' mom, and she said the same thing happened to her. She put her down on her back and she walked away for a bit and came back and she was on her stomach. She is a quick mover.... Hopefully I will see her roll over soon!

Rolled Over!

My mom just called me and told me that Teagan rolled from her back to her front!! She apparently missed it, but was drinking hot chocolate nearby while Teagan was playing on the floor on her back and she heard her puke. She looked over and there she was, on her stomach!!! Of course with the pool of puke next to her. Yeah Teagan!!!

We have been eagerly watching her come so close to rolling over, but has yet to do it until today. Hopefully I will hear good news again, or see it myself. Our little girl is growing up! Makes me sad I missed it.... :(

Talking again...

When Teagan gets hungry, tired, or just unhappy, she talks. Well I had her sitting in her high chair while i was getting her food ready and she was talking up a storm. Of course when I finally got the camera out she slowed down. I did get a little clip. She curls her tongue. She almost looks like she is going to choke on it. Weird child!

First Sippy Cup

I read in What to Expect for the First Year, and they say you can introduce a sippy cup at 5 months. Well Teagan didnt like it very much. She would try to suck on it but didnt quite understand that she couldnt use her gums because they slid right off of it. I think i will try to use a sippy cup with a soft nipple next time. Hopefully she will do better, or at least like it better.

Sitting...almost!

Teagan is getting better at sitting. She can do it by herself for a little while, but then falls over.

Avocado

We had our first attempt at eating an avocado on Sunday...not a good idea. It seemed all great at first, not much of an expression, but after a minute or to she decided that it was not for her. She started making this gag reflex as if it were so discusting she couldnt keep it down. it started to freak me out after a while so i picked her up and out it all came!! Shooting out of here along with some of the cereal she had just eaten on me and on my shoes! It was gross. Needless to say, we will not be trying avocados anytime soon!

finally

Well, I finally think I am recovered from my soreness from my little jog on Thursday. Crazy. We went and visited Mom's side of the family at Tosha and Ramsey's house on Sunday. It was a lot of fun! My aunt Julie, her boyfriend, and her daughter Breanna flew in from Arizona for a visit. My cousins Beau and Christina were there with their daughter, Camila who is 15 days older than Teagan. She is so cute. She is a little bit bigger than Teagan and can sit by herself, Teagan isnt quite there yet. She can do it for a short while but then falls over.
